Vintage Silk Brocaded No.26

Vintage Silk Brocaded No.26

A rare find, this silk huipil is a treasure.  Found while sifting through piles of vintage huipils that are traditionally worn as blouses in Guatemala.  This huipil was handwoven on a backstrap loom using a weaving technique passed down for generations of Mayans called “brocading”.  The designs depict girls playing in shades of pale pink, green and blue. Due to its vintage nature, each pillow and its unique imperfections vary slightly.

This pillow helps sustain this craft and support ethical employment.
