Vintage Brocaded No.35

Vintage Brocaded No.35

In an intricate series of geometric designs, this vintage brocaded piece showcases the extraordinary skill of Mayan weavers. Brocading is a traditional weaving technique done on a backstrap loom, weaving in the design line by line, in the ways of their ancestors. Found while sifting through a pile of vintage Guatemalan blouses in Chichicastenango. Due to its vintage nature, each pillow and its unique imperfections vary slightly.

This pillow helps sustain this craft and support ethical employment.
